Our story

Unigym Gatineau

Unigym Gatineau is a non-profit sports club that brings together all gymnastics-related activities within the City of Gatineau. The organization serves more than 7,000 members, from early childhood through to high-level athletes, and plays a key role in expanding access to, developing, and promoting gymnastics sports throughout the Outaouais region.

Founded in 2011, Unigym Gatineau operates across several levels of development: introductory, recreational, competitive, and excellence. This broad scope gives the organization a distinctive identity: it is simultaneously a place where children are introduced to sport, a space for personal development, a structure that supports athletic performance, and a leading community organization.

Today, Unigym Gatineau is one of the largest gymnastics clubs in Canada and the largest in Quebec. This reality represents a significant asset in terms of reputation, but it also comes with high expectations. The more central an organization’s role within its ecosystem, the more important it is for the organization to have clear governance, consistent communications, predictable processes, and a proactive approach to risk management.

The organization is guided by a strong mission: to put participants at the heart of everything it does, bring together the key stakeholders in gymnastics in Gatineau, encourage participation in the sport by everyone, and promote a safe environment for the benefit of the entire community.

Its vision is to establish itself as a leading organization in the development of gymnastics sports in the Outaouais region and as a model for sports development at the regional, Quebec, and Canadian levels, thereby contributing to the reputation and recognition of the City of Gatineau.

Unigym Gatineau is also driven by a set of values that should serve as key pillars of its communications: respect, transparency and honesty, quality, flexibility, safety, and inclusivity.
